The fleur-de-lis has been used as a symbol for centuries on coats of arms and flags. It’s a stylized flower(fleur) lily(lis). My introduction to the fleur-de-lis was in Montreal, Quebec where I was born. The provincial flag features four fleur-de-lys. I’ve always loved it. It’s also an official symbol of the state of Louisiana, and New Orleans is also a very interesting and favorite place to visit.
You often see fleur-de-lis used in jewelry on rings, necklaces and earrings. This necklace is from the Rocklove Anthology Collection. It’s called The Aristocrat and features a stamped fleur-de-lis in silver, adorned with a piece of porcelain, and a brass replica of the 1905 ship, the HMS Victory. It’s got heft and meaning. The chain is also very strong.
